Proteomic Analysis in Nifedipine Induced Gingival Overgrowth: A Pilot Study

چکیده

Objective: The aims of the present study were to investigate proteomic profile nifedipine induced overgrown gingiva and compare with non-overgrown gingival tissues obtained from same patients. Methods: Seven subjects under medication for at least 6 months diagnosed as overgrowth (NIGO) participated in study. Periodontal clinical parameters recorded. Gingival tissue samples harvested (GO+ Group, n=7) regions (GO- Proteomics was performed using Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) technique. identified proteins further classified according their molecular functions, biological processes cellular component distribution functional gene ontology analysis a web-based bioinformatics tool. Nonsurgical Management of Nifedipine Induced Gingival Overgrowth

Drug-induced gingival overgrowth is frequently associated with three particular drugs: phenytoin, cyclosporin, and nifedipine. As gingival enlargement develops, it affects the normal oral hygiene practice and may interfere with masticatory functions. The awareness in the medical community about this possible side effect of nifedipine is less when compared to the effects of phenytoin and cyclosp...

Therapy for nifedipine-induced gingival overgrowth by saireito in rats

OBJECTIVE A calcium antagonist, nifedipine, causes gingival overgrowth as a side effect. It has been confirmed that the Japanese traditional medicine, Saireito, inhibits the nifedipine-induced proliferation of gingival fibroblasts in vitro. We performed an in vivo experiment to determine whether Saireito has a therapeutic use in the treatment of nifedipine-induced gingival overgrowth. METHODS...

Proteomic analysis in cyclosporin A-induced overgrowth of human gingival fibroblasts.

Cyclosporin A (CsA) has been used as an immunosuppressive drug to prevent organ transplant rejection and to treat autoimmune diseases. CsA has a proliferative effect on human gingival fibroblasts (HGF) in vitro. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying CsA-induced proliferation in HGF remain to be elucidated. This study was aimed to investigate the CsA responsive proteins in HGF using syste...

Amlodipine-induced gingival overgrowth.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used in the management of angina and hypertension. We report 3 cases of gingival overgrowth in adult dentate patients associated with chronic usage of this drug. Gingival changes occurred within 3 months of dosage and appeared to be compounded by the patient's existing periodontal condition. In all 3 patients, there was sequestration of amlodipine in thei...

Drug-induced Gingival Overgrowth

Many terms have been used to describe gingival overgrowth. The expression gingival hyperplasia (“abnormal increase in the number of normal cells in a normal arrangement in an organ or tissue, which increase in volume”) and gingival hypertrophy (“enlargement or overgrowth of an organ or part due to an increase in size of its constituent cells”) have been also used, although gingival overgrowth i...
